Edible Sculpture Reflection.
1. The strong parts of my edible sculpture is the shape and structure of the head beacuse that is the most important part and makes it what it is.
2. I think I could have done the nose and the headband a little different because the headband is far into the hair and the nose doesnt stand out very much.
3. The theme of my project is just kinda random and crazy and I made it becuase I like wild and different things.
4. The form of my project is a head and I chose to do it about life size so it was a little more real.
5. I used many different materials on my project. I used ricecrispy bars to form and shape the head and popcorn to make the hair. I also used candy for the headband, eyes, and all the details in the mouth area. The background is made out of frosting and I used marshmellow cream to stick everything together. The hardest to work with was the frosting to make the design on the background and the easiest was just pasting on the candy.
6. I learned that art can be made out of anything. I never thought of really making things with food.
7. I had a design made up and knew kind of what I wanted to do. When I was at the store I decided what kind of candy I wanted. At frist I had not planned on having a background but I thought it would have a more finished feel if it did. I hadn't planned on having a headband or sprinkles in the mouth but those just came to my head with the materials I had at my house. I started with making ricecrispy bars and forming them in the shape of a head. I then put the eyes, and mouth parts on. The next step was putting the popcorn on for the hair along with the headband. After that I had finished what I planned for. It wasn't pleasing me so I added the background out of frosting that I had colored myself.
8. I thought this project was really fun. There are alot of things out there that you wouldn't think to use in art. I really liked this because there are alot of foods that you can work with to make a sculpture. I think how everything went was well. Nothing should be changed becuase I liked having the freedom that we had to make anything with whatever materials were edible.
